Dialing Problems are generally either very easy to solve, or are beyond the scope of CNM Tech Support. Those problems that can be fixed relate to the number being dialed, the modem driver selected, and the maximum connection rate.
Modem Not Found/Selected –
Possible Causes:
External modem not powered on or connected to the computer.
Modem driver not installed or pointing to the wrong port.

No Dial tone -

No Answer –
Possible Causes:
User is dialing the wrong number.
User’s modem could not communicate properly with server.
Server-side modem had not properly reset.
Possible Solutions:
Confirm number is valid.
Uncheck “Use Area Code and Dialing Properties” or “Use Country Code and Area Code” on General tab of the Dial-Up Networking dialing profile; this will ignore the area code settings, and any additional dialing properties such as disabling call waiting.
Busy Signal –
Possible Causes:
User is dialing the wrong number.
There is high traffic on the server.
The telephone company is having trouble on that line.
Possible Solutions:
Confirm number is valid.
Give user an alternate number.

Lengthy Sign-On –
